🚨 BREAKING: Aer Lingus UK to stop selling tickets for all Manchester transatlantic flights from April 2026 👇![]()
Aer Lingus has announced it is pausing ticket sales for all transatlantic services operating from Manchester, signalling a likely end to Aer Lingus UK’s long-haul operations.![]()
The move effectively places the Aer Lingus UK subsidiary — launched in 2021 — into limbo. The airline has operated Airbus A330 and A321neo aircraft on direct routes from Manchester to New York JFK, Orlando and Barbados. While Aer Lingus has described the situation as a “period of uncertainty” ahead of a final decision, removing flights from sale is a clear step towards winding down the Manchester base.![]()
Industry reports towards the end of 2025 suggested the base was under pressure due to lower profit margins compared with Aer Lingus’ Irish hubs, alongside disruption caused by crew strikes.![]()
Importantly, this change does not affect Aer Lingus or Aer Lingus Regional services between Manchester and Ireland. Flights to Dublin and Belfast will continue as normal.![]()
🍀 Aer Lingus statement:
“To minimise customer disruption in the event of a closure of the Manchester base, which operates transatlantic flights from Manchester to New York, Orlando and Barbados, Aer Lingus is no longer selling transatlantic flights to/from Manchester for travel from 31 March 2026. There is no impact on Aer Lingus or Aer Lingus Regional flights between Manchester and Ireland.”![]()
