Guests booked on the Norwegian Star’s seven-day cruise from Southampton in 2026 have been informed that their sailing will be extended by three days—completely free of charge.
Originally scheduled to end on 4 October 2026, the voyage has been lengthened following a change in the ship’s dry dock schedule. The Norwegian Star was due to undergo maintenance immediately after the cruise, but a rescheduling at the shipyard has allowed the trip to be extended.
The cruise will still depart Southampton on 27 September 2026, but will now conclude in Lisbon three days later than originally planned.
With the extra time at sea, Norwegian Cruise Line has updated the itinerary to include additional ports of call. While Oporto has been removed from the schedule, the new 10-day itinerary now features stops at La Rochelle, Le Verdon, Bilbao, and Vigo. The call at La Coruna has also been moved to later in the voyage.
According to Cruise Hive, guests were informed of the changes via email:
“Following a change in Norwegian Star’s scheduled dry dock for technical enhancements, your sailing has been extended from seven days to 10 days.
This new 10-day itinerary provides three extra days to enjoy these exciting destinations at no additional cost. All existing pricing, promotions, and packages tied to your reservation will remain fully protected.”
NCL confirmed that any prepaid daily service charges, promotional beverage or dining packages will remain price protected based on the original cruise duration. Additionally, the number of specialty dining meals and Wi-Fi minutes included in promotional offers will be increased to reflect the longer itinerary.
Guests are therefore set to enjoy an extended European voyage without any extra expense, offering more destinations and more time to experience life on board the Norwegian Star.
