Some names in travel history never truly fade — and Pan Am is certainly one of them. Once the world’s most iconic airline, Pan Am defined the golden age of jet travel with its unmistakable globe logo and promise of sophistication in the skies. Though the airline’s final flight landed in 1991, its legacy continues to inspire nostalgia for an era when air travel was glamorous and aspirational.
Now, that legacy is preparing for a fresh takeoff — this time on the ground. Austrian hospitality group JP Hospitality Investors Club has announced the launch of PAN AM HOTEL, a new international hotel brand inspired by the airline’s classic style and pioneering spirit. Revealed at the Expo Real in Munich, the concept aims to reinvent airport accommodation, with the group suggesting that “airport hospitality needs a new category.”
While full details are still emerging, the first Pan Am Hotel is expected to open in 2028, marking a new chapter for one of travel’s most recognisable names.
The project follows in the footsteps of New York’s TWA Hotel, which brought the retro-futuristic flair of mid-century air travel to life within JFK Airport’s landmark terminal. If the Pan Am revival captures even a fraction of that same nostalgic charm, travellers may soon find themselves stepping into a hotel experience that celebrates the timeless allure of the jet age.
